Is it safe to upload my photographs on ORKUT???

I am really very concerned about this topic.



Is it safe to upload my photographs on ORKUT???
No seriously its not safe to upload your pics on the net. One of my classmate did uploaded hers and the result was very wrong.Another classmate took her pics and fixed them with his pics and uploaded onto his profile. It did went a very big scene.


So I do not suggest it.I dont think your friends will need a pic to recognize you.
Reply:It can never be 100% safe to upload any personal data, including photos, on the internet. However, on Orkut, if you really want to upload some photos, make sure you change your album settings as “visible only to friends”, so that only people in your friend-list can see your photos.





Also, I would recommend you to avoid posting closeup photos.
Reply:That would depend upon your definition of "safe", wouldn't it? And what type of photographs you're planning on uploading.





Nobody ever died, or lost an arm because they uploaded their ordinary everyday photographs to some website.





A good rule of thumb is: don't upload any photographs you wouldn't want to have to explain to (a) your mother, (b) your boss, (c) a priest or (d) a judge.
Reply:I would suggest you not to upload your pics,eventhough these days orkut comes up saying that it provides complete safety by changing your settings and locking your account there are people who can release and do watever with your pics.


If your close friends insists on uploading it send your pics through email and let them understand that its unsafe to upload pictures.
Reply:It would seem secure, though if you are looking for ultra security you can use a webpage like imageshack.us to upload your image and send the URL they give you to the specific person you want to see it. This way no one who does not have that specific URL can see the picture, and it will be deleted in a few days from imageshack's server.
Reply:That would depend on your definition for safe. People can of course save a copy of the image if they want. There are millions of photos being uploaded on Orkut, Facebook,etc. Not everyone is too concerned.

dificult to answer but if u set all the setting in such a way that only ur frds can c ur potos then its allways fine and u dont scrap a unknown person yes its safe

Reply:It is up to your risk to post your original photo in orkut. It is not safe to do so.. There are ways to misuse.
