I was duped by an unknown person in Orkut, whose photo was someone else. I need justice. what should be done?

This person promised to marry me.where as the person is already married. I have spent lots of money.Please suggest what should be done.

Depends on the law of your country, and you don't say where you are.





In most western countries, suits for "breach of marital promise" have not been fileable for years.





In such countries, money you spent in contemplation of marriage is not recoverable. However, and gifts given to the other party specifically in the expectation of marriage - eg an engagement ring - may be recoverable. Also, if you "loaned" the other person money, and can *prove* it was a loan, you can sue for it back.

Reply:There's probably not a whole lot you can do. Right now your pride is hurt and you want revenge. Your best thing would just to try to move on and forget about your unfortunate situation. Stick with meeting people not connected with the internet and one day you'll find someone to marry. As for the money.. consider it a gift to a person who just has no respect for others. No need for you to stoop to his/her level by wanting revenge.
Reply:Just let it go, and count it as a learning experience. I ended up marrying someone who was already married in another country, and it was horrible. Just let it go. Trust me, you will get no assistance from anyone for anything. My ex ran up over 5000 dollars on the credit cards as well as the checking account we had. I tried everything, but no one would help.
Reply:What should be done: You chalk this up to a very valuable life lesson. Don't treat marriage and relationships so lightly as to make a life commitment with someone you have never even met. What could you possibly have been thinking? At any rate, the lesson here is so valuable that it is worth far more than anything it has cost you. Please take it to heart as you move forward.
Reply:Contact your local police department, however if the criminals are overseas it is not likely much can be done.
